It's a tale about a special young woman named Adina Giorno who grows to learn that she's not like everyone around her. When she's finally able to connect with family members she's never come in contact with, it's revealed she was chosen to come to Earth.
For a time, Adina only shares what she's learning about life on Earth with her family in space and it becomes a normal part of her routine. When life around her begins to change, Adina finds herself torn between keeping alien life secret and sharing it with the world. The question is — is the world ready to know the truth about what some have long suspected?

Dakota Johnson didn't think twice about starting a book club because she immerses herself in whatever she's reading. She recently told Bustle, "TeaTime and I have an Instagram channel...and every few days we’ll be releasing a deep dive as we read along together." she said." She also talked about reading books in a way that goes beyond the surface of what's written. "I want to fall down the rabbit hole every time I read… to invest in the book, invest in the language, invest in the references. Like, Oh, what is that piece of art she’s talking about? Who’s that musician," she said.
Although book club picks are usually personal, we love the way she connects with Beautyland. She continued telling Bustle, "...this is a book that I will recommend to people for the rest of my life. It feels like we’re setting the bar so high, which I am proud of." Speaking of setting the bar high, readers can expect to find titles that challenge their minds. "Our book club is literary fiction.
