Homemade Chocolate Truffles – The word truffles may scare you but these are actually a lot easier to make then you’d think! First, take 3 dozen chocolate sandwich cookies(I’d use Oreos) and crush in a plastic bag. Then, put your cookie crumbs and 8 oz. of cream cheese into a mixer. Mix until fully incorporated. Place mixture in bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. Then, roll into 1″ balls and placed on a cookie sheet with wax/parchment paper. Freeze for one hour. Now comes the fun part! Melt 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate baking squares in microwave about 1-2 min. (Again, I like to add a little milk or oil to make smoother). Then, remove chocolate balls from freezer and drop one by one into melted chocolate until completely covered. Lastly, melt4 oz. of hot pink melting chocolate wafers and use to drizzle on truffles. Yum!

Use 2 pieces of the cut in half bacon and shape them into a heart on a sheet pan (make sure this pan has sides to prevent grease from spilling). Bake for 18 – 25 minutes or until crisp. Make this into a dessert treat by dipping in melted chocolate. Yum! Recipe from The Paper Mama.

Tomato Soup and Heart Shaped Grilled Cheese – This recipe has more steps because it’s a real lunch recipe but it’s still very easy to make! To make the soup start by melting one tbs. butter in asaucepan over medium heat. Then, add 1/4 cup finely chopped onion, 1 small pressed garlic clove, and saute about 2 minutes until tender. Next, put on low heat and add1/4 tsp. paprika,3 fresh basilleaves finely chopped, 3 oz. softendNeufchatel cheese (can substitute cream cheese). Valentine’s Day Shirley Temples – Shirley Temples are a great way to get kids in on the Valentine’s Day fun! I personally still love Shirley Temples because they’re a great sweet treat that takes two minutes to make. All you need to make these are: 7-Up , Ginger Ale, or Sprite, Grenadine, and marashino cherries. First, fill a pretty glass with ice. Then, pour your soda into the glass up to the rim. Top with grenadine to taste (I like to make mine more red than the picture because they’re sweeter!) and a few cherries. Done! If you’re going for a red themed dinner these are the perfect addition. The adult version? Add 1 oz. of vodka to make a Dirty Shirley. Yum! Recipe from Pen & Paper Flowers.

Mini Heart Pizzas – To make these mini heart pizzas you will need a large and small heart shaped cookie cutters. (You can usually find these at the dollar store this time of year!) First, preheat oven to 400 degrees. Next, take a package of Pillsbury Thin Pizza Crust and roll it out. Use your large cookie cutter to cut out your hearts and place on a greased cookie sheet. Next, use your small cookie cutter to cut out tiny hearts from pepperoni slices. Spread a thin layer of jarred pizza sauce onto the hearts and cover with shredded mozzarella cheese and the hearts. Bake for 5 or 8 minutes of until brown…and you’ve got pizza! Recipe from The Nerd’s Wife.
